The card services scammer's recorded message should say "press 1 now to speak with one of our friendly customer services agents who will be happy to rip you off, in order to earn their commission to pay for their drug habit".
I too am geting this call every day. Caller ID shows 347-582-2589 with no identifying name. I haven't answered because don't know the number. Then yesterday I answered and they hung up. Today is the same thing.
I am on the do not call list, and I have no business with these people. How do I report them?
As a follow up, I did report them via the do not call registry website. And, lo and behold they called me back AGAIN. I picked up right away and got a recording about eligibilty for energy rebates.
I pressed "0" to speak to a representative (Martha) and she asked if I had a copy of my energy bill. I said "No, I do not. I want you to stop calling me. I have filed a complaint against your company". She said she would put me on their do not call list and hung up.
I asked them if I can call Con Ed myself and arrange this "rebate" because I don't like to give information out to people I don't know. The woman hung up on me. Obviously a scam. Don't talk to them!
