Definite Scam .. I.R.S. does not call or email people. (check out the officiaal IRS website) If they need to get in touch with you, You will recieve a letter in the mail with document # on it so you can go to the IRS web site and look up what the letter is about and verify if is an official government document.. These bozo's have been calling me for the past 2 years and actually at one point a live person left a message that they were Sargent Bob and a Marshal would be coming to my home to arrest me if I did not return their call.. Wish I had picked up, I would have told them to send them a.s.a.p!! I need a vacation from my family!!
I received a call from this number. Stating a warrant was out for my arrest for back taxes. Wanted the funds ASAP! And the police would be here to arrest me in 20 minutes.
I just got a call from them and have received many actually (some different numbers - like Virginia 703-952-2156) saying they are the IRS. #1, They don't speak English! #2, The recording is so broken!
Don't panic, I just got one too - after my heart slowed down, I had the good sense to Google it. It IS a scam! (which I should have known since I owe the IRS nothing!)
They claimed that they were from the IRS and that I should call them back immediately because it was their intent to sue me. I called and actually got a live person. My first indication that something was wrong. Anyone who has dealt with the U.S. government knows you never get a live person to answer your first call. So I hung up and googled the number. SCAM!
