OR, it could be a burner cell hooked up to a computer that is spewing out these calls. If they can trace the cell's location, they might be able to bust these scammers. Quite possibly an 'independent' criminal holed up in the lovely BRONX.
Like everyone else, we got a partial Pre-Recorded Msg hawking a "Medic Alert" system. Claims we've been 'referred by a family member or neighbor.' These are calls targeting 'seniors.' Just because we've reached a certain age does not mean we are stupid or gullible. Wish there were/Hope there is additional penalties for attempting cyber & telephonic crimes on those over 60, just like there are such for physical crimes - for when they eventually catch up with these SCUMBAGS.
This call came in Friday, I wasn't around the phone to answer.
CNAM in the call logs said "Unavailable" which is typical of a lot of cell calls; my own cell does that when I call my landline.
Caller left a voice mail; so this is an illegal robocall. The message must have started soon after the phone was answered by the voice mail. This is all I heard (a deep male voice) :
Remember, we have a system waiting to be shipped out to you.
