I got a call from 347-584-4980. Left a message said they were trying to get in touch with me several times (not true) and I had to call TODAY to get my name off this debt before it went to court. I don't owe any one money so it seemed like a scam. I did not call back. What kind of company does not have a 800 #?
A legit debt collector has to send paperwork within 5 days of initial contact, give you 30 days to dispute the debt, etc. per Section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf No paperwork means it's a scam. The BBB has issued several alerts on this scam, just google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector"

I just got a call from a Unknown Name and Number and it was this guy who had a very thick middle eastern accent claiming his name was Allen William he was saying that the were filing a claim against me. I thought that was fishy and then he gave me his call back number 347-584-4980 and that i was to talk to his Supervisor..Funny thing is ive never had a credit card or bank account or have never applied for loans so FAKE ALLEN IS FAKE lol
