Just received a call from this number stating that it was authorized by the state attorney general and we need to call back immediately to resolve a legal status of our account. It's bogus - I'm not calling it back.
Same here, except the callback number is a NY City number and my number is a Los Angeles (California) number. Obvious scam. Now added to my DNSBL based blocklist and the DNC violation is next....
Received this call in TN on my landline. Definitely a scammer. "This is Amanda Smith from the Dept of Legal affairs..." However, the message was a robo call and came through very slowed down so that it was unintelligible (sounded like very slow darth vader) probably due to some malfunction in their autocall system. Being an audio engineer, I adjusted the speed of the message so I could tell what they were saying and it was from this number as well, Same scam. Block the number.
