When they called me I led them on for a bit.. Didn't have a windows key on my keyboard that kinda thing. They tried to get me me to download the teamviewer app and install after nearly 40 mins of dicking the guy around. I have an older keyboard there's no windows key. Oh my computer says non-system disk error when I turned it on (I had mercy / got bored after 10 mins and said oh look.. I left my floppy disk in the drive.. silly me). Scam check one complete : If I have to tell the dude I had a floppy in my drive I sure as hell don't want him poking around in my computer innards via remote desktop.

The first dude who called (it only took the old keyboard trick to "elevate" the service) stated that there was a HACKER from OKLAHOMA who wanted to get into my email and computer. He stated he was calling from Microsoft Genuine support and when pressed for a phone number he coughed up the 347-627-0444 number but he was getting pretty irate at this point as I dropped the bomb that I'm a 20 yr computer technician and wanted to know exactly the nature of the threat that they said was happening. As proof I asked for my IP address, one that they'd have to know as it's kind of key to saying hey dude someone is attacking your address. All I know 255.254.63.44 isn't an IP I'm likely to be issued anytime soon. I ended the call by excusing my self for a moment (there was someone at the door 1 sec). It was a shame that when I checked back 15 mins later he'd moved on. I was enjoying our conversation.

My neighbor received a call this morning from a person named Tom Lee.  He told my neighbor that her laptop was hacked and his company could resolve the issue and guarantee for live for $240.  As naive as my neighbor, she allowed him to access her laptop.  He worked on her laptop for a while and claimed that her laptop was hacked and needed to pay him $240 to disinfect.  She refused and hung up the phone.  After she rebooted the laptop, windows 7 began to ask her to log in using a password that she had never set, so basically she has been locked out of her own laptop.  Never allow anyone, let along someone you have never heard before, to remotely access your computer!

Just received this call too on my home phone which is connected to my pc.  this person with a thick indian accent who claimed to be Jack Richardmen..lol ,claimed my pc was being hacked by an outside source and they were not selling me anything but wanted to warn me and block this unknown hacker who was probably trying to get into my banking or email so they asked if I did banking on my pc.. dead give away..lol knowing full well how someone can hack your pc through your phone line.. I told him I would have to call back to verify the company he was calling from.. Little did they expect, I called back from my cell phone, which is separate from my home, and bluntly told them this phone call is being recorded and traced by the FBI..lol... they hung up! I feel sorry if anyone falls for this b.s.......People use your  intuition..don't give anyone access to your pc and personal info!!
