Keeps calling and telling me I took out a loan from America cash advance usa I told him I need to call my bank to get statements so I needed the exact month n he was unable to give me that info before this call I got the 1st call and incoming # was "911" which was odd yesterday I got another call from 916 259 9447 these scumbags names are Leo garza jr, officer David black from FDIC and erick something couldn't understand last name they have all my info I'm calling fraud hotline to report them be careful don't fall for it
Exact thing happened to me got a call from jack Hoffman saying this is FBI agent calling in behalf of America loans and I owe 1,888 dollars and needed to pay it right now. I told him I have no clue wtf he is talking about he threatened me saying he will call the police to have me arrested now I told him im going to the police office myself and he told me I was calling him a fraud and pretended to send a police car out I stayed home for an hour and a half living 2 blocks away from the police station waiting patiently. Load of [***] I'm calling him tomorrow private phone number and have my friend a real police officer tell him off and see what he really does. And the fake warrent number he gave me was 2060BM
(1) Call comes from caller id 911 (!): WOW! This got to be really good! People, please note: We call 911. That 911 number does not call anybody. It is the first bait to make you pick up the phone. If that call id said "123 456 7890" would you have picked up the phone in the first place?
(2) Let us say you have taken payday loans in the past, so it makes you worry. Geneuine worry, yes. BUT - think of this: Why would a payday loan lender go to 911 (so that 911 can call you back) to collect your money back? 911 is a emergency toll free number that sometimes works even from a service disconnected cell phones. It is for EMERGENCY only. A loan collector trying to collect your loan back is NOT AN EMERGENCY!!
(3) When people are in dire need for money - to the extent that they go to payday loans agreeing to pay extra ridiculus interests, it means they do not have any credit cards. Otherwise, they would have used the credit cards to buy food or whatever was the emergency need. But these scammers would accept "ONLY CREDIT CARDS". Hmmm... is there a missing piece in this puzzle?
(4) Finally, if you want to have some fun with these "John Shumaker" type of guys (there are many names these days - Steve Williams, Tony Garza, Jack Hoffman, the list goes on), call that 347 number back. And tell them that you dont have any credit cards or bank accounts and you can send only money order to a name and address (put some plead into it and try to sound humble and try not to laugh!). Then hear the guy trying to jump through hoops to get your money! I had one such fun for 15 minutes one day - finally he figured out I am smarter than him and disconnected the phone! :-)
All in all, it is a bloody extortion scam and dont fall for it!
I kept getting called to my Supervisors office because Officer Jack Hoffman kept call him to get in contact with me while I am at work. Don't these people know that they can cause people that don't even own them or any one money fired and lose their job behind stupid stuff like this or is it that they just don't care the only thing that they are after is get money from hard working people that's trying to provide for their family. I call officer Hoffman up and asked him to get rid of my Phone and contact number and not to call again. But as soon as I hung up with him he called my Supervisors number. So now I am going to look farther in to getting him and his group arrested for scamming and harrassment.
We had a VM on our phone from this number, When my wife called back, person at the other end (called himself John Shoemaker) identified as an IRS person demanded to pay thousands of dollars immediately through a credit card. Of course his thick accent and threatening to send Police to arrest us immediately did not fool us.
