Saw ad in craigslist in my hometown about a motorcycle and responded. Got a sob story about his grandson dying and wanting to get rid of the cycle. It was picked up by Motorcycle Shipping Company from my hometown and delivered to their office at 393 Palisade Ave Jersey City NJ 07307, which when researched is a private residence owned by individuals not named in our emails. Gave me the phone number posted here as their business number. His story is that I could pay the company to reship the cycle back to my hometown and he would transfer the title to me for free. Emails include pics of the bike, a 2004 Yamaha Yzf-R6. Names involved are James Kamanda (grandfather/owner of bike) who supposedly lives in New Jersey even though there is no one listed by that name in New Jersey and Brandi Boyle, supposed representative of Motorcycle Shipping Inc (email address of
[email protected]).
Here is the first email I received from James Kamanda:
Hi ,
Thanks for your interest, The bike is still available .
I am currently located at my new house in New Jersey (NJ), I have already asked movers to bring the Bike down here to New Jersey (NJ) from my grand-son's house in the city where the AD was posted and was going to put up a new AD here in New Jersey (NJ) when the mover arrive, because my wife advised me to put up the ad on Craigslist as she doesn't want to see the bike anymore cos of the memory of our Grandson.
I bought the Motorcycle for my grandson as his birthday gift. Its 2004 Yamaha Yzf-R6 Sportbike,Mileage: 3,853,Engine Size: 600 cc and it has a good title. It is some months now since he died and i would like to give it out and seeing the bike will bring back it memory and it makes us sad, as the house will be emptied soon and I myself will be relocating to Anchorage, Alaska where we shall stay with other family members for care.
If you are able to afford the delivery charges, so that I can coordinate the movers to return the bike to you where-ever you are located within the state as I only gave them the instruction yesterday evening, and I'm sure they will request for delivery fee from you.
Please let me know your position, you can reach the movers on:
[email protected] . I have attached some photo of it. This was taken two weeks ago.
Best Regards
James Kamanda
Did lots of internet research and see that this scam has been going on since 2009 at least with different names, phone numbers, and locations. Do your research before ever sending money. I'm glad I did.
