My father answered the phone and got engaged in a phone call with a man who said he knew my father had been to Best Buy recently and wanted to alert my father that there was a problem with his computer. My father handled the call reasonably well but really wanted to know how this company found out about his recent visit. They denied that they had said they were related to Best Buy. I also got involved in the call and I was astonished at the clever manipulating of the conversation and the relentless validation that they are a real IT company and were idiots. They are very good at making you feel like you need to defend your position. Just hang up on them!
I received a call from David at Microsoft who stated that my computer was at risk of attack and that I needed computer protection. Then he said that Microsoft had received communication from my computer! I played along, followed his instructions and opened MY COMPUTER, which revealed a list of ALERTS and WARNINGS. Per my husband, who manages a very large computer network at a local business office, these alerts and warnings are normal. There is no need to do anything if you have a decent virus protector. SCAM! I asked to be removed from their call list.

I got this same message from "Harris" of Microsoft. Called at least three times in a 4 hr. period. I hung up the first tiem after saying I wasn't interested. He called right back, said I was busy and that I would call them back so he gave me this number. When I didn't call back he called me the third time. After insisting I had a computer problem, I told them I would talk to my local IT person and hung up again.
Foreign middle maybe-as-far-as-India eastern sounding woman warning about some bullsh*t nonsense. Got this number after a little resistance and it asked me to call "Mr. James". Foreigners praying on unaware Americans.
