Impersonated as a Con Ed associate and tried to get me to pay my bill via some untraceable Rite Aid payment. Was able to get a real Con Ed guy on the phone with those scammers to verify that they weren't with Con Edison. Beware! They had all of my information including my address, phone number and the exact amount of my bill. The original number they called me on was 347-921-4132.
i received a phone call Saturday June 30 from someone from Coned stating that my service was going to be suspended that I should pay immediately to avoid my service to be cut off. He told me to buy a prepaid card on Rite Aide for the amount of $496.00 dollars. Please do not make any payment over the phone if someone call you. the number is 347-779-9213
Be aware that as of today --- july 12 --- this scam is still active. They call and claim they are from con edison and that you need to pay to avoid disconnection.
