I just rec'd the same call in NH. Said he would be serving me within 2 hours with warrant and taking me away, and to get a criminal attourney - not a comforting conversation to hear on a Monday am. He was rood and refused to identify himself. Name of one of his associated is Mark Johnson for Department of legal affairs. Hope they catch these people!
Caller claimed he was from the Justice Dept and that I was being brought up on charges. When I asked what kind of charges, he wouldn't give specifics. He said I was a suspect in something. When I told hi I contacted my local POLICE dept I heard clicking on the line a few times. He told me to be ready to be arrested and hung up on me. He said his last name was Brown.
Got a call with this number at 7:23 AM. I returned the call, and it was answered "US Treasury" by a male with a slight Middle Eastern accent. I asked what they wanted, and they wanted my name and number. I told him they already had that, and he said "Don't waste my time" and hung up. I returned the call 10 min later, thinking I'd get a different person, but the same guy answered the same way. This time I did give my number, which they obviously already have. He said that he was Agent Ron Coleman and there was an "action against my name" and they would need some documents. He advised me to get an attorney to represent me. I replied that I already have one (related to another matter), and he very quicky said "Have him call me" and hung up again. If this is a scam, what do they want? And why didn't they attempt to get more info from me? I probably will give the number to my attorney, and that will really scare him. Reverse phone lookup says this is a landline in Far Rockaway, NY. I don't believe the US Treasury has offices there, nor do they have "Agents".
Just received another one of those calls saying that I owed the irs money. I told them I was calling the police and will have them shut down. Dead silence at the other end.
I work for an attorneys office and my brother got the call from this number and asked me to check it out for him. I called and a man with a middle eastern accent answered I identified my self and mt law office and he hung up on me. I then started to call back but the office line rang in so I answered ___ ___ Law office and the other party hung up. HMM So once again I called the number it rang once then went busy waited a few minutes and tried again same thing as if my number was blocked. SCAM
