Just received a call from this number to our emergency security line at work for one of our officers. The individual identified himself as "John Williams" and had a heavy accent. He would not provide any further info and was extremely insistent on contacting the officer. As a standard operating policy we NEVER provide this information to random callers, but he would not take the hint.
I googled the number and found this site - file this number under highly probable as a scam.
Same deal, called my place of employment. A man with a thick "accent" said his name was Jack Dawson and his putting me through to his supervisor, Steve Walsh. Was not placed on hold and the "accent" was the same with the same background noise. Claimed he was a federal agent representing the conjugal of the United of States of America. I told them to no longer call me at my place of employment as it was not appreciated and hung up on them/him. Be careful, tis the season to be scammed.......
I received this same phone call yesterday on my home phone and my cell phone. The message started like this I am calling from American Legal Services it's a law firm my name is Jason Fletcher and my hotline number to my division is 347-827-0921 it is very important that you or your attorney on record return my call the when you receive this message and if you don't well I am sorry what my happen as this situtation unfolds upon you but when I called this number back it just kept ringing I let it ring for a good 5-minutes and no one answered and the number that showed up on my phones was 1-111-111-11 how fake is this and last week someone called me with a +52 number representing the same place expected me to pay him right then I said no mail me the documents you have he said okay I will send them to your e-mail I said no mail them to me through the postal service he said okay I am putting down that you refused to have information sent to your e-mail well quess what it has been a week and a half and I still have not received anything!!!!!
These people are ruthless, when they couldn't get anything out of me the first time using a different number they are now trying to go after my daughter and stating that I am also in this legal matter. I too called the number back and all it did was ring. They also called my home and the only number that showed was 1-111-11111, so I know this is a scam and the thick Indian accent is proof, because it sounded like the same guy who called me before and just the name has changed. If you listen closely in the background noise you can hear these people talking in their native tongue. What people won't do to scam people out of money. The First time he called me he threatened to be at my door with the Sheriff the next morning, I told go right ahead. Needless to say, they never came to my door. But he refused to send me any paper work, told me it was not possible due to the nature of the judgment against me. I know my rights I told him and I had a right to know who the complainant was and that I wanted to talk to them directly. That is when he hung up on me.
I received 5 calls from this number today: first time at 7 am, they left a voicemail asking me to immediately call back, they are a lawyer, someone is suing me n blablabla. I know a scam when I hear one. They called again an hour later, I spoke with the person (who was asking for someone who isn't me) and told them to stop calling. of course they called back about 3 times and each time asked for a different person, or hung up.
The caller is a man, and has a thick Nigerian/south african accent. There are loud noises in the background like a cab radio, etc.
Very annoying. I am not stupid enough to give any of my info away over the phone, but I don't like someone messing with my sleep.
