These letters are a hoax and are hoping that threats will scare you enough that you'll send them money before you find out they are scam artists. I've checked into the Fair Credit Collection laws and statutes and they can do none of what they say they're prepared to do. The only thing a Debt Collector can do would be to obtain a Judgment against you for the amount due and could possibly once such judgment has been obtained, take steps to recover the amount owed. Should anyone from this (or any Collection Company) call, demand they send you IN WRITING on Company Titled Stationary the alleged debt, date the debt was incurred and the total amount due. IF the Company is reputable, there should be no problem for them to send you that and most REPUTABLE debt collectors will work with you to settle the debt OUT OF COURT.
I also am personally asking every one of you that have received this letter to research the laws and statutes in your state regarding debt collection and what is allowed. Although these clowns are total frauds, there are several debt collectors who violate state and federal laws regarding collection of debt and believe it or not, if they violate them, can be dealt with severely in many states. Protect yourselves, use your computer or other internet device to educate yourselves and put these idiots in their place!

Guy called (twice) pretending to be Officer "Jack Roberts" from the State Investigations Dept. Referred to me by name and said I needed to call him the very SECOND I got his message or the allegations would result in a warrant for my arrest and prosecution in a "California courthouse".
I got an email say I owe someone money. Its scam this scumbag try anything to get their hands on people money, their target is people with bad credit history like myself.
