I received a call at this number saying that he was with the IRS and I was entitled to a grant because of not having a criminal record and paying my taxes on time. Is this true are they with the IRS?

The 1st one just hangs up after a few seconds. The 2nd one has a man with a heavy Indian accent telling me he's calling from Washington DC & I randomly won $7k if I just answer a few questions. I asked what department a few times but he just said federal government. I told him we had a bad connection & I couldn't understand him. Since caller ID says unknown I was suspicious & Google brought me here.
Is there an FBI or State level law enforcement office I can report this scam to? I would love to see an actual government agent compile info, make an arrest & have them audited by the IRS.
Probably not. The IRS knows all your banking info, especially if you do pay taxes. If these guys ask for it then they're trying to rob you. Also, government agencies like to contact people by Post Office, not telephone.
