He said his name was Steve Martin. He had an accent like from India. He said he was calling regarding the enforcement by the U.S. Treasury. Ignoring this second warning would be federal offense and would go before a magistrate, judge or grand jury if I did not respond. He did not use my name at all.
Yes, got two such calls today. I just let numbers/callers I don't recognize go to voice mail.
Sadly, there are people who are taken in by these scams. No matter how many times the IRS, Treasury, etc. say they NEVER phone people, there are those who get sucked in. My guess is they aim for the older citizens (yes, I'm one of those) who just don't get cyber crime/phone scams.
Got two from this loser today. On my way to a sporting goods store to purchase a very loud whistle to blast into the handset the next time this numbskull calls.
Same as others! Received 2 messages on my CELL PHONE, on March 11, 2015, 2:30 and 4:11PM. from man with accent, claiming to be "Dean Martin", demanding I contact him immediately, threatening "things" would happen to me.
This is an Enforcement Action from US Treasury....intending your attention.....ignoring this will be a 2nd attempt...or, for a Federal Criminal offense. They want us to "COOPERATE" with them, so They can help US.
Yesterday, I had four threatening messages from this phone number. They were all identical and claimed to be the U.S. Treasury. I was concerned but suspected it was fraud. The name left was Steve Martin.
