@Paul .. This is yet another boiler room scam from India, with the caller having a thick Indian accent claiming to be the IRS and threatening to arrest you if you don't give them money. IT IS A SCAM! The Treasury Department and the IRS will NEVER call you on the phone! Period. These idiots apparently hope that you are naive or the elderly whom often fall for these scams. The IRS will ONLY contact you via a Certified letter if you owe them something, and they will usually do that at least twice to make certain that you got the message. Do NOT answer these types of calls. In fact, do NOT answer ANY numbers that you do not recognize. Until the phone companies start to offer tools to block these telescam robocalls, your phone will become less and less useful. Get a call blocker and add this number to the block list!
Call from Indian sounding person on very bad line using on my husband's first name - saying that we are in trouble with the Treasury and need to call back - obviously a scam!
Another phone number with the treasury dept scam. Doesn't everyone already know this is a scam? It's been all over the news. I can't believe they are still trying it.
