Got a call from this number. At first they stalled before saying anything after I said hello twice. Then a woman asked to talk to me by name. I told her I was unavailable. She said she was calling to renew subscription for TV guide and would call back. Sounded like she was at home no background sounds as to where I thought it might be official. I can't wait to mess with her when she calls back for I'll give her a hard time by telling her to send an invoice or literature for me to 'send' her a check instead. (which I'd never do!) lol! #notgivingmycreditcardnumber #toscammers
I certainly that I, like some other elderly people I know have been targeted! Why, can't say. The number is probably forced over the real phone number so it can not be identified.
Get a call blocker device from Amazon, Fleabay, etc........around $50 for one with at least 1000 number capacity.. Plug it in, and press the block or blacklist button when a spam call comes in, and presto, no more calls from this number. Done. After a while, your line will be quiet.
Called about 3 times, no message left. I'm guessing they are calling to try to get me to renew my Reader's Digest sub. which I already did. Between charity calls and calls like these, I'm ready to unplug my phone for good.
