These dishonest callers switch their caller ID to show at least three different "companies": SRVC CALL, CONTACT CENTER, and SERVICE CALL. They are none of those. They appear to be an entity trying to push a political agenda, take a survey, or otherwise mislead people. Glad to see my online call-blocking service automatically blocks these idiots.
Verizon is very stingy about call blocking - they permit 2 per landline. I have a Panasonic phone which has a call-block feature , blocking up to 250 numbers , and it also has a block-group capacity, it works with voice mail and it has an answering machine as well. For blocking it will take the CID and block the number which when they call , rings once then cuts off only numbers I've blocked. But I'm running out of blocked number slots - I've only had the phone 3 months and bought it specifically for this feature. Well, that was a major selling point but I needed a new office phone.
Called several times over the last few days. No one on line (even answered one after reading here who the calls were from just to yell at them.) Lucky all my house calls are forwarded to my cell so since it was always this number that came up, I just went to my cell account and blocked it.
I have had several calls from this number which I always ignored. This time I called the number back and got an answering service/machine. A recording came on saying that if you would like to have your number added to their do not call list press one. I did, and it said to allow up to 72 hours to be removed. I have done this with other unsolicited calls that I have received and they stopped. Just FYI, it might be something you all might want to try. Apparently the government's Do Not Call Registry is not worth putting your name and number on, because these places continue to call! But at least some do offer an out!
