I also had a voice mail telling me to call this number re a criminal investigation. I called and was told this was the IRS about a criminal investigation, speaker had a heavy Indian/Pakistani accent. I hung up. Tried calling back using Skype. Wsa told again it was the IRS. Yeah right. Hung up. Scam!!!!!
I got a call from this number with a woman's vocie with the same IRS scam. It went to voice mail. The number registered as a cell phone and is from Washington state. The IRS does not call from Wahington state nor do they call people at all if there is a probelm with regard to taxes. Yesterdday the same voice mail with the same voice of the woman came from a number in Indiana. .812-887-7642. These are criminals trying to scare gullible people into parting Ve with thier money or assets. The governemnet should take steps to prosecute these criminals.
The problem with these calls is that they originate from outside the United States and it is next to impossible to take any kind of action against them unless the country of origin is willing to get involved. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if these telemaggoters didn't know the difference between Washington state and Washington DC.
