I got a call from the number showed up as 2568 and a lady told me thazt a survey was conducted in my area and 1500 peiople was chosen that paid their bills on time and had never filed bankrupt. She gave me an ID number and a security code and told me to call 360-285-3992 to receive my 8000 grant money that i never have to pay back. She aske me to verify my adress and phone number and said she beleive that i was happly married and I agreeed yes. She thene ended the call reminding me to call and get my money.
I got a call from 12568, very heavily accented Indian man said he was calling on behalf of the federal gov't and that I was randomly selected along w 1499 other people. I was awarded a grant for 8000 that I never have to pay back. I was told it was cz I paid my bills and taxes on time, was a law abiding citizen and hadn't filed for bankruptcy. I was asked if I was single, employed and verified my home address. I was given an alphanumeric code will a confirmation number as well and given the number (360) 285-3992 to call and have my money released to me today....
Dont worry you guys this scam is currently being investigated by the department of homeland security an the FBI. Note to self. Dont answer a call if you cannot identify number on caller ID.Do you seriously think this government is going to select you to receive money that you havent applied for. Hell I get call from the real U.S government about money they say I received that I didnt get. So go figure!
The woman was a very heavily accented woman telling me that I had been selected to receive grant money of up to $8000. She gave me a money confirmation number and a security code number and then gave me the account manager number that I needed to call to get my money released to me. She asked if my zip code was @#$&% I said yes she then asked if I was married or single and I said engaged. She then told me to have a blessed day.
Called the number to ask to have my name and information removed and the Indian guy on the other end repeated "ma'am you need to shut the [***] up and hang up" because I asked questions as to why and how they got my information. Refused to give me a supervisor or his name. I will be calling to file a report against them ASAP.
