Called today and gave a message that I was being sued by IRS. Called back and some foreign dude answered and all he would say was "name" "name" Name". I hung up.
received one call from the above number; automated; told me I was having charges filed against me by IRS and to call them back immediately! did not; have no probs with IRS and knew it. probably how ISIS is raising money; calling old folks and scaring them to death.
Caller left vm, IRS is suing me, I need to call 360-362-4692 to get information on this case. Going to report to the Federal Trade Commission I advise each and every one of you to do the same thing. FTC tracks these call and gathers information for law enforcement. What the caller is doing is criminal. Everyone File Complaint online to FTC eventually caller will be prosecuted.
Be a pretty hard task, there's a billion or so people on the Indian sub-continent and I suspect that hundreds of thousands of people are involved in this kind of scamming.
It's unlikely any caller will be prosecuted. They are located in India and Pakistan and beyond the reach of US law. Invest in a call blocker. Not perfect, but it can help.
