Received two automated calls from an unknown number claiming to be from a credit union that I don't belong to. The voicemails that were left stated to call 360-515-3809 to "reactivate my card" as my "card has been suspended." I reported this to the credit union and am waiting for a response.
Did you call the number back that was given you? It is a strange recording if you have not listened to it. I was interested in finding out that several others have gotten the same type of call. Thanks for your imput.
I too received an automated call from the same number. I immediately called my bank, and they said everything on my account looked normal. The bank said never give your account information, and it did sound like some kind of scam. I don't even have a credit card, its a check card.
Re call from 214 427 4650. On 8/19/08 three calls came into our home from 11:17 pm to 11:25 pm. The automated call indicated our credit card was suspended and provided a number to reactivate. We checked with our banks, using our bank's contact numbers and everything was fine - defnitely a scam. If you call this number back they say they are deal taker.com. Interestingly the 214 area code is in Texas and this is where this company is housed as well. I tried to contact the company and couldn't locate a phone number for them, even going thru their parent company. DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER PROVIDED ON THE RECORDING!!
