Someone named Tom wanted to talk to me about home protection. When I asked him what gave him the right to call me when I am on a DO NOT CALL list, he said OK and hung up.
I have gotten several calls from this number. It is just an automated system talking, though they make it sound like it is an actual person. If you call the number back and press 1, you can be put on the do not call list.
I get so many calls with various numbers that I've exceeded my "reject list" maximum! These are scammers using "caller ID spoofing" (Google it). They could be calling from anywhere, regardless of the #. I don't know why they don't answer a lot of the time or even leave a message. Reporting them does no good because they cannot be traced and they just keep changing the numbers. I know it is annoying a ****, but try not to get so upset, accept there is nothing you can do except put the numbers on your block list as you get them. Also, whenever you "press 1 to be removed," you are only acknowledging that they have reached a valid number. If you're on the DNC list, you will not be called by legit companies. I think my number and email were obtained from a job website I used that I think turned out to be a scam in itself. Lesson learned.
