beware they called several times no messages left and when I answered they hung up until today they wanted to know if there were any people living in my area or home over 60? SCAM RUN
I answered and they told me they were from "Life Alert", he gave me my address and my fathers name. He told me we had to make an appointment for them to come to our house. I hung up, and they called again, we didn't make the appointment but I'm afraid they're going to come to our house since they know the address, I traced the phone number and it said it was from Oregon.
Got another phone call (5:12pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize.
(Does this mean that they are involved in Interstate Fraud?)
They, of course, left no message.
As always, I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.
I am on the National Do-Not-Call List, and have been for over a year now.
(I guess this is our government at work for us.)
Once again I'm going to
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
AND to
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
and see if that can get the government to work for me, and stop these calls.
(Yes I will go through all those steps, again.) [I have also bookmarked these URL's.]
We should all pile on.
Not a scam per se, they are trying to get you signed up for a monitoring agreement. The security kit is free because they will make a fortune off of you on monthly monitoring that will probably be up to $59/month for a minimum of 2 years (or more). Not technically a scam, more like a rip-off. :)
