Numerous calls from this number regarding lowering my interest rate on credit cards. When I push "1" to try to see if I can find out who they are, the phone hangs up.
The caller ID says "Student Services." The automated pitch says you can "reduce your rate on your credit cards." Of course "you must act immediately." When I pressed 1 to be removed from their list, even though like most people I am already on the do not call list, there was a click and a hangup on the other end. It is easy to report these solicitations, and I encourage people to do so.
This is a credit card phishing scam claiming to be from "Card Services". They call from several numbers and have been call me for over a year now. If you tell them you don't have a card or call them out on being a scam they will hang up immediately. THESE PEOPLE ARE OUT TO STEAL MONEY FROM YOU, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!
They have been calling me for over a year now. It is starting to get obnoxious. I get 1-2 calls a week on my mobile from dozens of numbers. Luckily I have a blacklist function so I can block them. I really hope the FBI is working on busting these guys. I get the impression that this is a pretty big fraud group. As time has passed it seems like they have improved their game too. They use numbers of prepaid phones and once used Google Voice numbers. It used to just go to the mobile numbers voicemail when you called back but now it goes to an IVR that has an "opt out" option which no doubt puts you at the front of the queue. These people are bold too. I tried to scam the scammers too and when I could not repeat my fake card number the person on the phone responded "i got you douche" and hung up. These people need to be stopped!
