Unknown caller. when you answer the caller hangs up. Call back you get "you were in a servery, but the time has expired, press 1 to remove your self from the list"
This happen to me about 3 weeks ago. I press 1 and still getting calls.
I just received a call from the number (360) 529-6901 listed as Yahoo on caller ID. It is a number that previously showed up as PacificTel" on my caller ID. The nonsensical political survey was previously offered by the most likely spoofed caller ID and telephone number of PacificTel. The ultimate goal appeared to be to get me to provide some form of credit card information to pay $59.00 for taxes on a free Bahamas cruise, allegedly on the "SS Bahamas Celebration" cruise ship. I'm not stupid. The person offering this wickedly awesome deal was a cheerful "Mr. William Deaver." I have found lots of current information on these "PacificTel" and now "Yahoo" calls that are desperately seeking to gain financial information from consumers. Be careful. Spread the word. Also, because I have been getting plenty of these UNLAWFUL robocalls (I am on the Do Not Call List), I recorded the telephone call because because I believe this company's actions to be illegal.
They call my cell number, my husband's cell and our home number. All three numbers are actively on the Do Not Call list. We can't get them to stop. However, I am filing a complaint with the NC Attorney General.
Yup, calling scammers back and pressing some number certainly works! It confirms your number and means you will get more junk phone calls. Scammers love it when they can trick suckers into falling for this trick, because they can then sell or trade the confirmed number to other crooks.
