Has called my land line 3 times in the last couple of days. I did not answer and no message left. Probably political ad, but not sure. Caller ID says Mt. Vernon WA.
Call back gets "Hello, we were calling you with either a research market survey or a political call. If you would like to be placed on our do not call list please press 1 now." What they don't tell you is that even if they remove you from the current list, you can be on a new one tomorrow. They're telemarketers turned survey or charity callers because the DNC made legitimate telemarketing obsolete. If you're not interested in participating in these things block the number. It's nothing important.
My answering machine picks up all calls I never pick up until I go into the other room and hear who it is or if I'm in the room with the machine and hear the number and it's a number I know. If they won't leave a message it's probably not a legitimate call, otherwise why would they not leave a message? my phone rings all day long on weekends and it's rarely anyone that I know. I wish that there were severe penalties for violating the do-not-call list. I'm on the list and it does me no good whatsoever.
