This is not a scam. They get the numbers from the agancy that hires them- usually a hosp or something like that. They use auto dail and thats why if you wait to answer no one is there.
It is legiamate research but funded by the state and Gilmore just calls for them. Since it is funded by the state that is why the compensation is only $10 instead of the usual $60-$100 offer for doing focus groups at the Gilmore location.
I've gotten a couple of calls to and I looked up the number and it's for a Gilmore research that I know does a lot of phone surveys for the Wa Dept of Health. They're legit. The local health dept may not know that.
These folks call me almost everyday. Sometimes they call multiple times in a day. I have tried to get my name removed by speaking with the person who occasionally is on the other end, but that doesn't help.
