If your on the do not call list I highly suggest you report it to the FTC. The do not call list does not protect you from getting telemarketing calls, it only subjects the telemarketer to a fine if they call you more than once and you request they stop. You must call the company and explicitly tell them you do not want them to call you again. Then if they do call you again they can be subject to a $16,000 fine.
Just like A, they called and the recorded voice said they could lower my interest rate on my credit card. They didn't mention WHICH credit card but that I should PRESS #1 now before the offer expired. Clearly this is a phishing scam looking for that little old lady in debt that will offer up here credit card information without realizing it's a scam.
On a side note if anyone wants to help out a Nigerian Prince I know who needs to move $51 million dollars in blood diamonds please email me.
Ever try to file that complaint with the FTC? Its a joke along with the DNC list. Oh, and anytime a retailer asks for your phone number at checkout...you just voluntary gave them permission to get taken off the list.
