This call came to the phone of an 80 year old man who would have fallen for the tactic. The caller ID says "State" then the message goes on to state that AARP has issued a warning to all seniors. The call has been reported to Do Not Call as well
got robocall from 360-633-9563 caller ID said " ST " on Tuesday 08-19-14 @ 836 PM
message with males voice telling about seniors falling, getting hurt and dying........they will deliver a free medical alert pendant
plus all the benefits including $3000 in Food coupons I could use at my 'local' stores. press 1 so I did.
Then a second recording came on the line saying the company name (which I missed) and that they have been in business
since 1977.....blah blah blah.......then finally a live male came on the line. Told him right off the bat =
"quit calling here U expletive SCAMMER" and then gave him the "SCAMMER AIR HORN."
He tried to "tuff it out" for about 15-20 seconds, turned the sound up full blast and then he hung up.
My caller ID said Silverdale, Washington. I know no one in Washington so I never answered. This must be one of 20 or more phone numbers and locations being used by these medical alert scammers.
Scammer, Scammer, wherefore art thou! I hope in Hell.........keep getting these kind of calls hourly, daily, weekly, I have no more room on my call blocker, as soon as I take ten off, ten more appear!!!
At the start of November the telemarketer calls have skyrocketed. I normally receive 3-5 calls a day but now I'm receiving upwards of 15 a day. I never answer these calls.
Calls for the medical alert system seem to have hundreds of different numbers and call from different states.
AT&T telemarketers are just as bad...
