Called 4 times back to back. I kept waiting for a message to be left but there was none. People who really know me know to call many times in a row to get me to answer but i didnt want to because i was sleeping. So i looked up the number and im glad i didnt answer.
Afraid the landline is slowly being taken over by those with evil intent, however, scammers can't play a game by themselves. Not answering the phone and shutting down voice mail to unfamiliar numbers could be the best defense. My landline used to get pelted with almost daily by worthless calls, but shutting off my machine and not answering seems to have cut back on the volume. They're courteous enough to bother me, I'll return the favor giving them the idea my number is inactive. That way they can't resell it to other scammers since I don't take the bait. Don't return unknown calls either.
someone called me this morning ... 4 times in a ten minute span ... called them back when I got up and it was an insurance guy asking if I wanted a quote... funny thing .. my car got bumped yesterday .... kept asking who he was ... I think he said he was from us something ... I kept asking how he got my number ... he had no answer.. finally asked if I was Trisha and when I said no he apologized and hung up ... sure glad I'm up on this stuff cause someone who wasn't and was in my position would have just got scammed... my e-mail is getting garbage too so please beware there as well
