I'm getting the same thing. Caller ID just shows "S" as the name and the phone number (without the area code). They're calling with two different numbers. One is 848-6540, the other is 848-6552. Both with the same name.. "S".
I've checked with dexonline.com to backtrack the caller.. they're listed as a WA #'s but no other information is given. Same as everyone here, they call several times a day for several days a week and leave no messages. I work nights and "try" to sleep days (hard with a one yr old baby) and this is getting quite ridiculous. My wife's thinking it may be a collection agency, if it is... it's a sure-fire way of killing any type of collaboration or cooperation. If it's a bugged system..wow.. wild to think computer viruses moving into the telephone systems. I know cell phones are able to contract PC-like viruses, didn't know if landline systems could either.. if it is. :/

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.
Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Due to a computer glitch I was sent to collections even though I paid the original bill (late but was told to pay the original company directly and they would contact Skagit). I Never received any paperwork from Skagit until I paid the original company. 3 months After that Skagit sent court papers to my work for wage garnishment. I had been laid off by then. No papers after that. Contacted original company and they said they would contact Skagit again. Skagit called but I either missed the call or no one would answer or it would be too late to call so I left a message. Year later I was employed again for a short time but moved and had to quit my job. Skagit sent garnishment paperwork to job and new address! Left message with original company reminding them of their promise. Have not heard from either but original debt plus some extra is still sitting on my credit report at least 2yrs after I paid off the original debt to the original company....
