They wanted to sell me an extended warranty on my brand new car. I have contacted my dealership and from the many things I've read online, I'm sure it's a scam.
These people called me from two different numbers claiming they were from the "Auto Protection Department" and tried to sell me an extended warranty for one of my vehicles. First off, if I wanted to purchase an extended warranty, I'd talk to my dealership first. Second, I immediately called them out as scam artists since after the first time they called, I got in touch with every local dealership in my neighborhood as some in surrounding counties to see if these people were 'legit'. None of these dealerships have ever heard of the "Auto Protection Department" and every one warmed me against them, including the dealership where I bought my car. When I told the 'telemarketer' this, he said I could have the dealership lawyers get in touch with them. That isn't my responsibility. If they want to legitimize themselves as an honest upstanding company, they need to take that initiative themselves. They should also stop calling people and find a better way to advertise their service.
