Most phone calls for "charity" are from professional fund raisers who keep about 50% of what they raise, and most of the "charities" spend only 10% to 30% of their portion on their program goals. So typically, only 5 to 15 cents of every dollar you give gets to the program goals, which might be as broad as "raise awareness". Search the Washington State Secretary of State's website for details.
Got a call from BC Outreach among other phone numbers used. These people should be ashamed of themselves for playing on the heart strings of so many. I looked up Breast Cancer Outreach on the internet and strangely enough the phone number did not match. Word to the wise only give to American Cancer Society.
