Possibly some sort of scam. The woman who spoke had a heavy foreign accent and spoke in english, though I could only understand maybe 50 per cent on first hearing it. Some reference made to a scratch card and I would be eligible for something that I never determined. I have no entered any scratrch card contest or request for info in recent memory. I think this is likely a scam of some sort as yet undetermined. She gave up and hanged up on me as I repeatedly requested her to repeat words and phrases as I could not understand.
A reverse phone search could not come with a listed name of a person or business.
Caller asked who they were speaking with before telling me who they were. I explained I wouldn't tell my name til I knew who they were. He said john and asked me again. I said "and who are you with?" Without telling, he explained I had it all wrong, he wasn't trying to sell me anything. He was part of a business that is moving into town. So I said fine, go ahead (against my better judgement). He started telling me that I had one a scratch off ticket, and I hung up.
I just hung up the phone on this number. It really kind of concerned me. First there was a faint voice behind a lot of static. Then there was a sound like a fax machine trying to connect. I ended the call then afraid that someone my be trying to tie in to our home network system. I'm not tech savvy so I have no idea what to expect. Really appreciate seeing all of your comments.
These people call about 4 times a day. I swear I'm going to get a whistle and blow it in their freaking ears next time they call. I've told them time and time again to stop. It sounds like it is coming from someplace overseas.
