This number has been calling for over 3 weeks...didn't answer before due to not knowing the number, message never left...answered today, was informed the caller was with federal financial group moving to the area and I could be entered to win gift certificate to restaurant.com....when I interrupted to tell them I'm not interested n to remove my number from call list immediately hung up.....very odd
"Federal financial group". Calling to advertise their services. Asked me some questions to enter to win something but I didn't meet "qualifications". I couldn't hear very well and she wouldn't take my name off their calling list.
Got a call from this number -- Caller ID said: LAVACHE.
The 385 area code technically means Utah and Salt Lake region, but it's a sure bet that it's actually a VOIP call from a foreign country. Other sites reporting this number -- where a person actually got a chance to speak to someone on the other end -- all cite DIFFERENT stories being peddled. Something the person on the other end will say they're calling about "vehicle protection"...other times they'll say they're calling about "financial services"... etc, etc, etc.
Bottom line -- It's a SCAM. DO NOT PICK UP.,
This was the third scam call that I got in 3 hours -- in fact, almost on the hour. So my guess is it's either the same Scam Artist Team rotating their VOIP numbers, who are trying to reach anyone that they can, at which point they'll then try to pull whatever scam they have up their sleeves. Or it's actually separate teams of scam artists that keep in touch with each other, who will trade phone numbers and basically say: "We robo dialed this number and at least got an answering machine, so the number seems to work. So, let's all keep trying this number until we get through to someone, and then see if we can't get any money out of them."
