Bogus operations or telemaggoters as I have come to call them will NEVER honor the DNCR. This is especially true when it comes to those based overseas since it is next to impossible to get their governments cooperate in an investigation.
In the years I have been on the DNCR, I have yet to receive a call from a legitimate company.
Most scammers will "spoof" someone's phone number to throw you off their trail. If you can reach them, it is still unlikely that they are legit. If you do not recognize the number, do not answer. If you answer, you just verified your number is a good number. Expect many more calls from more scammers! They will sell a list of good number to other scammers, who sell the list to more scammers.....
"Hello. This is a call from Credit Services regarding your Credit Card Account. There's not a problem with your account at this time..."
I hung up on them as a scam since I have NO credit cards at all, so definitely a fake call. It's also not a case where they may be calling an old number unless they still have numbers from 15 years ago. I've had this phone number for that long.
Called my cell; left no message. I've blocked the number. I hit *67 then 386-569-2937 on my landline. Recording said to call back during "business hours."
It was 2p here on the east coast so # must be in India! LOL
