Just got a call from this number. I answered and they hung up. I googled this number and got all these links about this number. Thanks to everyone who warned us what they are calling about. I know now never to answer this call.
Caller started yelling and using the F word at us because we would not agree with him about needing our credit cards paid off. He used the F word to me over 8 times. I had to hang up on him
For those who may not know, these calls originate from out of the country, probably Nigeria. The caller ID is manipulated to read whatever they wish. Yes, they do sell products that will do this. Being on the Do Not Call List is useless against these people since the FCC has no jurisdiction outside the country. I have received dozens of these calls over the past few years with various caller ID numbers being displayed, all of them being "disconnected" when you attempt to call them back. "Services" range from lowering you credit card debt, to "your car warranty is about to expire". Your best bet is to just hang up on them, there is no supervisor to speak to. If you want to have fun you can keep them on the line, give them false information, and watch them get ticked off when the credit card number you supply is invalid. They are wasting your time, why not waste theirs!
i chose to press 1,
a guy answered and asked me: who am i speaking to?
I REPLY: u tell me what my name is, since your the 1 calling me with a offer.
HE REPLIED: huh? excuse me?!
I REPLIED: yes, you need to be excused, you're taking up my time. since your calling me & you claim to have an account of mine that needs attention. you should have the information in front of you ready, without me telling you a thing. I have questions for you, do you have the answers???
HE REPLIED: oh wow & he hung up immediately.
!!he was speechless & shocked!!
if we all respond like this, im sure it'll eventually stop.
additionally, whatever steps need 2 be done 2 put a complete stop to this.
MY RESPONSE TO THIS:
386-736-7962
this number called today & has a recording: "tried to call you several times with an important message about your credit card account." It then says to press 1 for more information or 2 if you want your eligibility to lower credit card rates permanently disabled. We continued to receive calls even after selecting option 2.
Got a call at 10_45 this AM from 386-736-7962. I let the machine get it. They hung up w/o leaving a mssg. In the past, they've left a pre-recorded mssg on my machine about this being my final chance before my warranty runs out. *sigh* Well, seriously... if that first call 4 mos ago was REALLY my last chance, shouldn't I be SOL now and out of chances? Leave me alone and let my "warranty" expire.
