Call started with "Hi is Jimmy there?" I answered in true RI speak - "you have the wrong numbah". caller continues with "well maybe you can help me - I'm calling from the American Disabled Ve..." I hung up at this point. Robo-calling spammer!
I blocked my number and called back. It's definitely the American Disabled Veterans Foundation (ADVF) in Orlando, FL - amvetsfd.com. The website looks legit to me and contains links to other sites for Car Donations, Vets Blood Bank, and Vets Fighting Breast Cancer -- HOWEVER, all of those sites connect back to the same guy at ADVF, Neil Paulson. The Bristol, RI phone number also forwards to him in FL. So...whether it's all legit or not, NEVER Donate to someone who calls you on the phone.
