It appears the low-level drones that place the calls hand them over to more senior representatives once they feel you will respond. Asked me to spell my first and last name, then terminated the call once he determined what I spelled instead.
It might have been "Eric" that I talked to as well, when I asked for the address of the company headquarters I was provided the address and information that matches this page:
'Eric" wanted to argue that I had answered a "survey" placed to either my work-provided office or cell number, not a "cold call" that violated the Do Not Call registry.
