Scammer - The way I get them to stop calling is I use a Google voice number, and simply block the number. It's a shame that someone would scam the elderly. More likely they are scamming medicare.
I keep receiving these phone calls over and over - I have pushed the #1 button to schedule delivery as I want to yell at this person - goes back to the recording. Pressing #3 to remove does no good.
Everything people say above is true!!! This time the guy said he was from the Shipping Dept. and that SOMEONE had already paid for me to get one of these. Told him in no uncertain terms that i NEVER ordered this nor do I ever intend to have one sent to me. I wonder if people realize that the unit itself is free, but then they charge you so much a month just to have it. Something to check out before you say, OK!!! Between this and one other 401 number, I get at least 8 or 9 of them a week. Asked to be put on their DNC list but he just kept asking why I wouldn't want something that is FREE!!! Hung up on him and will never answer to that number again. Thanks for the phone ID I have so I can screen these pests.
AG Kilmartin Warns Consumers of Medical Alert Services Scam

After receiving calls from consumers complaining about unsolicited phone calls offering free medical alert services, AG Kilmartin is warning Rhode Islanders not to be fooled by this scam.
In some cases, consumers receive a recorded message saying that a family member has ordered a medical alert system, but more information is needed before the product can be shipped. The messages are a scam to get personal identifying information from the consumer - including credit card numbers, bank account information or Medicare card numbers.
"While medical alert systems do save lives, this scam does nothing more than harm unsuspecting consumers, especially seniors," said AG Kilmartin. "It is a constant battle to stay ahead of scam artists, who often live outside the U.S. and outside the reach of law enforcement. Consumer education is the best defense we have against these types of scams."

I received two calls from this number this week both with a male saying he was from the shipping department of a safe alert company. I knew I hadn't ordered anything...told him so the first time and hung up. The second time he call I told him off and told him not to call me again. Another friend of mine is receiving call also. This is a scam. They seem to want your address. Beware!
