Scammer - The way I get them to stop calling is I use a Google voice number, and simply block the number. It's a shame that someone would scam the elderly. More likely they are scamming medicare.
This number has called me 5 times. The first 4 times I did not pick up, but the 5th time I was
expecting a call from a friend with a similar number and so I made the mistake of answering.
He identified himself as "John at the loading dock for a medic alert system". I hung up quickly.
I also received a similar call earlier from 316-530-1310. My husband and I talked to that one for a
while. It sounded like a real person but he never stopped talking. Afterwards I checked with all my
relatives to make sure that they had not ordered this for me. I worried for a week that it might come
in the mail anyway -- it didn't.

Has been calling a few times per week for months. Sometimes it's for ADT, sometimes for LifeAlert. Lately the disarmingly nice-sounding guy says he's calling to confirm delivery of the life-alert system, insisting I ordered it. First time I nearly had a heart attack (!) and went into impassioned delials, but after that time I at least knew it was a scammer. This is a local Rhode Island # so I pick up because it looks familiar or like my doctor's office. How do you stop these true invasions of peace in your home?
