Andre called from this number. Said he was from the Center for American Homeless Veterans. His number is not listed under their website: http://www.americanhomelessvets.org/contact-us.html
I called Andre back and he answered. When I asked if he was legitimate, he hung up. I phoned him back 3 times and after questioning him about his legitimacy, he hung up each time.
This is not the first time that these type of callers have tried to scam me. The first one was from the Veterans Helping Indiana Veterans, 1427 W 86 Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. They called and I asked for something in the mail from them. They complied with a Pledge Form and an Indiana Sec. Control #2010042100592 and a website veteranshelpingindianaveterans.com. On the Pledge Form they gave a phone number: 317-480-1791. I sent them a check for $100. They did not send a receipt in the mail. I phoned their number and finally got someone in Florida who asked me to leave a message. I gave up trying to tract these scammers. Watch out for phone calls from scammers trying to play off our sympathy for legitimate veterans and Veteran Collection Agencies. Make sure they are legit before you send them a donation.
This is a scammer. On top of trying to scam people out of money, they have now set up call forwarding to other people's cell phones. So, if you try to call this person back, it goes to someone that isn't involved.
