I had the same problem with these sleaze-bags. I am on the national do not call registry and I reported the violation. These guys are obviously trying to work around this list.
Ok so i just received another call from this number, even after my request to be placed on the Do Not Call list like I talked about aboves. (Why am I not surprised??) But this time I answered to see if I could get an actual person on the phone and there was and he said he was from Customer Contract Services and wanted to talk to me about the service plan on my vehicle. This is the same company that used to call from another number but would sometimes use the name Vehicle Warranty Service or something like that. I'm not sure how these scammers got my detailed vehicle info in the first place, but again I asked to be placed on the Do Not Call list and he said he would do that for me right then. We'll see if it works this time. If not, the FCC will definitely be getting another complaint about this number.
no caller id info, just the 401-365-6268 shows up on my screen. That area code is odd so i didn't answer. I called back and as the other folks noted here - pressed 1 to be removed from their list.. whoever "they" are....
I have been getting calls from this number for some time now. I answered twice, and both times the caller hung up. Two days ago I called back and also got the same recording as everyone above. I also pressed "1." This was two days ago, and this morning I still received a call from the same number. Pretty shady, pretty scamy. This is pissing me off.
I've received calls from this number a few times. I answered this one and the woman said she's from "vehicle contract services" and wondered how my car was running...they knew what kind of car I own. When I asked how they got my number, she said she was returning a call to me. It's a scam and other than asking to be removed from their list, there isn't much more to do is there?
