I posted some furniture on Craigslist and got a very quick response from 'Roger Greenberg'.  ([email protected]).  Here it is, exactly the same as others in this thread:

I am in the US military (US Marines), presently i am in Iraq cause i was deployed here 5months ago.. would have called but we dont use mobile phones here... and also handling my dads company since he died.. am so sorry if this transaction will make you uncomfortable in anyway.. am trusting you so that is why am sending you the payment which will include the cost of the items and the shipment too. these information will be require to enable me to instruct my secretary to issue and send the payment to you as soon as possible. Also to enable him call you as soon as he send the payment.

I received the exact same 1st email from this guy, verbatim. At first i replied and told him sorry to hear about your daughter, but due to the fake money orders and scams on CL lately, i can only sell it for cash. I offered to consider delivering the dress if it was local. Then i decided to google this guy because it smelled like scam and frankly, the way it is written sounds like someone in another country wanting me to "trust" them. [***] can't even spell. After i found this site i wrote him back and said it seems like your daughter has been going into labor a lot lately! Thank god i didn't give him any of my information. This is the second time in two months someone has tried to rip me off, i'm still getting calls from that Kevin Peterson guy impersonating a lawyer threatening to put me in jail. What a world we live in...

I would have loved to call you to get more info concerning the wedding dress but I'm currently very busy at work and running around for my daughter's health.
