Just got a call from this # 5 minutes ago, so I decided to Google it & I came across this post here. The reading on my Caller ID had 10 X's across the screen. I let the call roll to the answering machine, but they did not leave any message. Seems really strange that the name would appear as xxxxxxxxxx. I am too on the No Call List. How did they get my # is what I'd like to know!!!???
Called and said in foreign accent I had won a free security system. I asked whom they worked for. They said G E Security. I let the lady go through all her questions, since this # kept calling. In the end, she said a local rep would call to set up an appointment.
When the "local rep" called, He said he was with "Safehome security Inc.".
# is 866-493-1253 in New Jersey, name of Chris Mets.
I told him I believed it was a scam, and asked what the # was to call back GE Security and he didn't know, yet he claimed he knew the sales lady whom called me, and that she was new.
I've received many calls from this number 401-401-0401. I answer and say hello, and they hang up. I called this number and got a message that it's a non-working number. It must be a number being used to mask the callers real phone number for caller IDs.
This website is so informative, when I see an odd number on my caller ID i immediately look it up on here and sure enough I know if its a legitamate call or not.
This number called my office and when i picked up. A man with a thick accent said "Hello I am calling on behalf of GE Alarm Systems." He then quickly said "This is not a sales call". Then he continued saying " This is a short survey." He didnt even ask me if i wanted to participate, he just kept talking and said "Ok do you have at least 2 alarms in your home?" I said I'm sorry we are not interested-" Before I could continue he cut me off and kept talking as if i never spoke. I then told him that this is a business he is calling and to take us off his list and hung up on him.
