Debt recovery company. Automated call that tells you to call a toll free number to settle your debt, unfortunately they woke me up & I don't remember the name of the company they said. I only answered because it was a local area code, probably using VOIP to get people to answer. Ever since I moved and got this recycled number from Verizon, all I get are these calls. And it's not one person their looking for it's numerious people. What can be done to protect people like me. I don't even want to answer my phone that I pay for!
I have the same problem from a number I got from TMobile. It's been over 3 years and I'm still getting calls for a woman named Debra. Last year, I got to talk to someone reasonable and told him to remove the number from their list as it's now not owned by Debra. For about 3 months, I did not get any of these calls so I thought that was it. Then the calls started coming again. Turned out, what he probably did was to just give a grace period for the collection so the calls stopped for a certain period of time but they did not really remove the number. I think I will still get calls for this Debra person until the day I die. This was the second number I had from TMobile as the first one also has a lot of debt calls.
