I've received numerous calls from this number but I don't answer because I received a call a few months ago from what sounds like a similar "scam." I work at home but I was busy and away from the house and should have realized that I wouldn't be getting a business call on my cell but I answered and the lady was very confusing about what she wanted and what she was offering. She said that it was related to my business and I truly thought at first that a customer was having a problem with charging an order and then she asked if I was still at the same address....idiot me, I said yes before I thought. She ended the call with someone will be contacting you tomorrow. I wrongly assumed that this would be by phone and that I could just ignore it. The next day, I'm pulling into my drive and a car pulls in front of me. The guy was harassing, scary and refused to leave. The more I told him that I wasn't interested(and still not certain what they were selling but it had to do with credit cards), the more hostile and aggressive he became. He even blocked my entrance to my house! He eventually left after I threatened to call the police. I wish I'd gotten his license plate number but at least I was able to give the phone numbers to the police.
This is a spoofed phone number by a scam outfit. It's the same group of jerks who use a Montana number. If you actually get through to anybody when you press 1, it's always a guy named Michael. The Do Not Call List is a total JOKE and a waste of taxpayer money. GET RID OF IT.
First one today from RI, but we regularly receive calls from our "credit card company" regarding lowering our interest rate. Got smart and don't answer now.
How scary was that! I hope they don't return but, in case they do, keep a camera or a cell phone camera handy to capture the thug who is harassing you and his license plate number. They are clearly crossing a line here and the police need to be contacted immediately if he comes back. Get the evidence -- either still pictures or video -- and call the police. Good luck!
I hate these scammers. I don't answer unknown numbers on my cell phone until I come here to find out who is calling. Now I'll add this number to my phone book under SCAM so I definitely won't answer when they call next time.
