I received an urgent voicemail about one of my employees. The woman identified herself as Cali Smith, saying she was with "Investigations." Her accent was so heavy in an Indian dialect that I had to play the message five times to understand what she was saying. Even then it made no sense. She named one of my employees and said this person had committed fraudulent activity and had used our identity to do so. I needed to call right away or the investigators would show up at our work site. I tried to call the number but I got strange static like a fax machine. So I googled the number, and saw these postings. Sick!
Same stuff they called me at work several times, told me i had taken a payday loan in 2009, and told me a company name as cash transfer, than when talking to a supervisor he called it cash advance, said they control 36 different payday loan lenders, in addition to this they had my SSN, old bank account numbers, and demanded money or else, Said I was being investigated for federal financial fraud, and was going to spend the rest of my life in jail if i didnt do what they said, so screwed up, they said they were prosecuting me in NY, gonna call a lawyer!!!
The same thing happened to me and I am also freaked out that they had all my information. I went to the police but they said there was nothing that they could really do and to file a report at IC3.gov which I did
