This is CVS a callin' to pester you about refilling your prescription(s), better answer it if you can, 'cause they will keep on calling until you go nuts.
In the past, CVS has called me with a reminder to refill my prescriptions once a month. I have received the call from a "digiman" (digital male voice) who asks for me by name. If I miss the call, a message is usually left for me on my voice mail. These calls have been from my local CVS with a local number indicated on Caller ID. Sometimes I've received a personal call from a pharmacy staff member. The local number is the same number that I call to place my precription refill orders. I received a "digiman" call on May 4 at 5:02 PM EDT from my local CVS. On May 5, Caller ID indicated a call from "CVS," with the number 401-762-7200, but no message. On May 6, Caller ID indicated that I had received 3 calls from "CVS," again (the third call at 6:12 PM EDT) without any message. Can't help laughing my head off because I called in refills through the automated system at my local CVS on MAY 1 and picked them up on MAY 2 --->2 days before the first call and 3 days before the second!!!! Gotta love technology--LOL!!!!
I've had missed calls from them every day for 4 days now. I answered it once and they said it was CVS calling about a medication reminder and they asked me for my date of birth. I wouldn't give them my info, I said I had my medication refilled already and they apologized and hung up. I asked the actual CVS pharmacy I use about this and they said that for specialty meds and high cost meds (this one costs around $2,000) they have a program where they call to make sure the medication is being taken and refilled the way it's supposed to. Apparently it's too expensive to risk any mistakes ....
Just received a call from 401-762-7200 and yes it is a CVS representative calling to "remind me" that my very expensive medication is coming up for a refill. This med costs upwards of $1,500 a month and this is the only medication that I receive the reminder calls on. Great service, I do appreciate the call and the lady that called will actually have the med refilled for me for pickup this weekend. She even asked if I needed any of my other prescriptions filled now and she will have those filled also. Thanks to CVS for providing the service.
